Divideon was founded in early 2017 in Stockholm, Sweden. The company is a software focused, product development company completely devoted to efficient methods for video compression. The formation of Divideon was initiated by Jonatan Samuelsson and Per Hermansson.

Our vision is to empower the video streaming industry with technical solutions and licensing frameworks for a sustainable and continuously evolving worldwide video compression ecosystem.

Jonatan Samuelsson is Co-founder and CEO of Divideon. Before starting up Divideon, Jonatan worked as researcher and project manager at Ericsson. He started working with video compression research in 2007, right after he had received his M.Sc. degree from the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm. Jonatan was actively involved in the standardization of the High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) standard, contributing primarily with high-level syntax features such as the Reference Picture Set (RPS) concept. Jonatan was project manager for Ericsson’s Video Standardization and Algorithms project from 2014 to 2016 and has been actively involved in standardization activities in MPEG, VCEG, and DVB.

Per Hermansson is Co-founder and lead programmer at Divideon. He has a M.Sc. degree in Computer Science from Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm and has been working with video compression implementations since 2010. During this period he has been technical lead in development of cloud based video compression and has contributed to novel algorithms for compression of next generation video technologies.
